Our Mission

Habitat for Humanity of Beaver County

Our Mission

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Habitat for Humanity of Beaver County is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry organized in 1992 by the Men’s Club of the Conway Presbyterian Church. We build or renovate simple, decent and affordable homes in partnership with hard-working, low-income individuals and families. To accomplish our mission, HHBC relies on community support and the driving force of our Volunteers. See our Houses in Progress - Completed Houses.

Our Vision

A world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Three criteria must be met in order to be considered for a home; 1) Current living conditions are substandard; 2) Steady base income meets our Eligibility Guidelines; 3) Willing to partner with Habitat.

Partner families purchase their houses at no profit or interest. The average mortgage payment of our families is $200 - $250. Average payments with escrow are $450 - $650 depending on taxes and cost of home owners insurance. Each family’s payment is “reinvested” in the homes of other partner families. Selected partner families are required to donate 350 “sweat equity” hours to assist building homes and attend mandatory training sessions.
