everyone

needs a place to call home

own a Habitat home

every one needs a safe, affordable place to call home
Do you think the dream of homeownership is out of reach?
It's not!

Habitat for Humanity of Beaver County partners with local, moderate income families to help them build a place they can call home.

Through our Homeownership program, people have the opportunity to own a decent home with an affordable, no interest mortgage. Working alongside our staff and volunteers, they help to build their own home and learn the essentials of money management and homeownership through financial literacy and home maintenance workshops.

Habitat Beaver County homeowners can achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.

do I qualify for a Habitat Beaver County home?

Here are the main requirements to be eligible for the Habitat Beaver County Homeownership program:
Income
Applicants must have a steady, reliable income that falls within the income guidelines. The Homeownership program is a hand-up, not a hand-out. Habitat homeowners purchase their homes with an interest-free mortgage and make monthly mortgage payments towards full ownership of their homes.

Housing Need
Candidates for our program have a need for improved housing, which can include things like safety and health concerns, overcrowding, or paying more than 30% of your income towards housing costs.

Partnership
Homebuyers must be willing to partner with Habitat Beaver County by working with us to help build their home, attending our home and financial management classes, and becoming active participants in the community by helping in our ReStore and at our local events.

Residency
To be eligible for the Habitat Beaver County program, you must currently and for at least one year have lived and/or worked in Beaver County, PA.

how the program works

1. Families apply to own a Habitat home through our Homeownership program. To qualify, they must have a need for improved housing, a steady income, and be willing to partner with us.

2. Properties are donated to Habitat Beaver County through private donors or local municipalities.

3. Donors and sponsors contribute financial resources and materials that allow us to build safe, affordable homes with families in the program.

4. Future homeowners build their homes alongside volunteers and construction staff. They also complete financial management and home maintenance classes to prepare for homeownership.

5. Families in the program purchase their completed homes with an affordable, no interest, 30-year mortgage.

6. Each Habitat homeowner's mortgage payment is reinvested back into the program to help build more homes with other future Habitat Beaver County homeowners.
